Everybody has different priorities when they’re buying a car. If you’ve got a family, you need something with a lot of space that gets good mileage so you’re not spending too much. Other people prioritize safety over anything else and some people are just looking for the cheapest car that they can find. But if you love driving and it’s more of a hobby for you, a car that is fun to drive is your priority. If you’re going to be hitting the road and taking long drives, you need something comfortable that is a dream to drive. These are the most fun cars to drive right now.
Fiat 500
Most people think that a fun car has to be flashy and expensive but that’s not always the case. The Fiat 500 is a great budget car that’s incredibly economical, but it’s still great fun to drive. It comes in at only $23,500 which is quite a lot below average for a brand new car. If you’re after sheer power then the Fiat 500 might not be what you’re looking for but if you just want a smooth ride, it’s great. The suspension is well designed and it’s got great tires so it handles very well. It’ll still do 0-60 in around 7 seconds and you can really feel the speed when you accelerate.
Ferrari 458 Italia
On the other end of the spectrum, you’ll find the Ferrari 458 Italia. Everybody knows that the Ferrari 458 Italia is an incredibly powerful car and you’ve probably never driven anything like it in your life. The 4.5 litre V8 engine can reach a speed of 124mph in a staggering 10 seconds. They’ve also stepped up the game in terms of on board tech so you’ve got a host of great new features on the dashboard. The only downside is that it’s going to cost you upwards of $130,000 to buy one.
Subaru BRZ
Subaru have a good reputation for making cars that are great fun to drive. The BRZ is one of the best Subaru models if you’re looking for sheer enjoyment from your driving experience. It doesn’t have a particularly high top speed but you get great acceleration and you can really feel it. But the Subaru BRZ isn’t about the speed, it’s about the handling. It’s very light and has nice springy suspension so turns feel completely effortless and the electric assist on the steering is one of the best ones out there.
Mazda MX-5
If you’re not worried about practicality and you don’t have a family to drive around, the Mazda MX-5 is a great car for you. You’ve only got 2 seats and the boot is small so it’s not the ideal car for a long road trip, but it’s the perfect car for a fun weekend drive. This is another reasonably priced option, only costing around $26,000. The design is built around the driving experience and to top it all off, it’s got a convertible roof that you can pull back in the summer.
Buying a car doesn’t have to be boring and practical, sometimes, it’s all about fun.
