3rd gen 1991 Chevrolet Camaro RS V6 automatic For Sale.
1991 Camaro RS With Upgrades:
—————————————-
V6 Engine, Automatic Transmission and 213k miles. Lots of fun, Rarely ever sat, Reliable enough that I used it as a delivery vehicle. Runs and is Street Legal but needs some work.
Only $2500.
The Good:
• Clean title.
• Valid state inspection from three months ago.
• Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly with no slips or knocks.
• Practically new Posi Rear Axle with 4.10 gears, for faster acceleration, less than 6000 miles on it. Fully rebuilt Diff, new Bearings, Seals, everything on it is new. It was all assembled and set up by professionals. Retail before shipping and assembly is about $3000 for the axle setup alone
• Upgraded (Lakewood) Control Arms and Adjustable Panhard Bar.
Your choice of RS or much more coveted IROC 5 spoke wheels.
Huge rear tires (on the IROC wheels)
• Ball Joints, Tie Rods, Front Sway Bar Links, Radiator, Thermostat, Fuel Injectors, Ignition Unit, Headlights, Windshield, Starter, Brake Pads, All Filters, Fluids, & more replaced within the last year.
• Original Spare, Tool Kit, Owner’s Manual and all paperwork.
• Z28 Front Seats (originals also available but aren’t as nice)
• Z28 Hood, Fenders, Doors, Front Bumper and Ground Effects.
• High quality (but dated) Alpine Stereo
• Custom Dual 12″ Sub woofer Box made to fit the trunk.
(All wiring included, sub and amp aren’t but could be for extra)
• GM after market Security System installed by the dealer.
• Lots more upgrades, updates and fixes (ask for more details).
The Bad:
• Engine is not original, has ~90-100k on it. It lost a lot of power and started knocking. I’m confident it’s a valve or valve related. I drove it home but haven’t opened it up to see for sure. Could be a cheap simple fix. Worst case scenario a new V6 can be had for about $400 and you could even drop in a V8 for a bit more to really get the best out of that axle. The block is good so you should be able to repair it for a lot less. I highly doubt you would even have to drop the engine.
• There is some body damage on the Right Rear ¼. Frame and suspension were checked the next day at shop and confirmed to be undamaged.
• The trunk latch broke. Comes with the new latch if you want to install it. It passed inspection with the trunk just chained shut from the inside.
• The passenger’s door handle sticks a bit but it opens. I can also include a whole new one if you want to change it out.
• It could also use an alignment and a paint job but that’s up to you.
Asking $2500 only because I need to sell it ASAP.
You can fix it and drive it every day, drop in a V8 and race it, or take all my pricey upgrades and put them on your car. The axle alone was more than I’m asking for the whole car. The IROC wheels are worth $400-500 by themselves. (feel free to check Ebay) You could honestly buy the car and part it out for a good profit if you wanted to. I would but I don’t have the time or space for it anymore. I really love the car and I want to see it go to a good home. Even looking like it does people would stop me on the street to tell me how cool it is, and it’s even more fun than it looks.
I’m more than happy to answer any questions you might have or meet up so you can see it in person. Don’t hesitate to make me an offer on it. The worst I’ll say is no thanks. At the time of this posting it’s the lowest priced car on the site.
